week 58

I started my job this week and I will now start working out 3 days a week- Tuesday, Thursday and Sat. T&TH because those are my shorter days of the week. I am def not getting as many daily steps in at all...I usually average around 7000-9000 steps and over 10 flights of stairs and today I only did 4300 and 5 flights... I will get my 5 more flights in before bed.... but it's not a workout day for me. I am sitting more at this job, versus at court I was constantly moving around & going up and down stairs. My old Job I had to go down a flight of stairs to make & retrieve copies, faxes, lunch... while everything is now in easy reach. I need to make reasons to get up and move with this job. On my lunch I went up & down the 3 flights and did a little walk. I could probably do those stairs a few more times.

I am sure once I get going with my home visits I will move more... one clients home is just 1/2 mile from the office so I will try to walk to that clients home. all is well... still eating healthy.. been doing a little over the bare minimum with my workouts just because of time restraints and my new schedule/commute adjustments. I had mucho flexibility at my old job and it was never a big deal to be exactly on time. This new place is a stickler.. 5 min late is tardy and you can be written up... so I allow myself 45-50 minutes for my 35 min commute to allow for traffic/trains or other setbacks. I need to start pushing it a little more once I get into the swing of things.


I really want to move closer to this new job... we will see.


Nervous to drop my workouts from 5 days to 3... but it's just more realistic with my new job. Also I can really push myself and have more quality workouts.

Vacay this week.. managed a few good workouts in... took a break yesterday.

Going camping, was tempted to pack my running shoes.. but really want this to be about R&R and family... besides I typically rest on weekends anyway. I have been a tad bot cranky, but I am feeling better

Bathing suit shopping





Uggh....i tried on so many.....slim pickings in my size at a few different stores...who knew that I was late in the game in swimsuit shopping.. not very many just plain basic suits.. that is why I typically buy at Lands end. My old lands end suits are too big now. I liked the black miracle suit  best in how svelte it made me look, but it was too tight. I also loved a coral number not pictured  that was also too tight. I ended up picking The Ralph Lauren nautical stripe one.. because I really love stripes and navy looks good with my skin tone and felt most "me" in it. I know stripes are not supposed to be figure friendly.. but I like them

Hard week of ups & downs


Good news- I was offered and accepted an amazing new  Case Manager position that I am thrilled about....a decent pay increase, medical benefits and doing what I love for an agency I believe in.


Bad news- My new job schedule will not allow me the same flexibility my old job schedule did ( such as coming home for lunch to let the dog out) More bad news is that we made the heartbreaking choice to re-home Cooper due to many factors- biting, aggression, positive new job changes and just not the right fit


I start my job on June 26th.. I will need to revamp my workout schedule and I am thinking I will drop from 5 days a week to 3 days a week as a maintenance schedule. .. my office is on the 3rd floor.. so I will get plenty of flights of stairs in.  Because my new job is a little bit of a commute, I still work 30 hours a week, but with my commute it's basically like full time... so It will take some adjustment.. instead of being around the block, I have a 35 min drive.

I don't want this change in my routine to be a set back... but I want to be realistic in what I can accomplish with my new schedule. I think 3 days a week of exercise will suit me just fine. After a year of doing 5 days a week, its obviously ingrained now.

Week 55

coopers weight 16 lbs

Meet Cooper... our new 8 month old border terrier mix... I think he has some pug in him too. This little guy is keeping us All busy. This week we have been focused on training him and that has been all consuming.. while I am getting the bare minimum in on my workout routine.. I am walking a ton with this little guy. I have never had more steps or mileage on my fitbit.




Once the dust settles around here I will be back to hitting it hard and pushing myself.
