Non scale victory

Week 45

Trying on swimsuits & clothing this week.. I did not buy this little pink number.I liked the color, not the style.I cannot wait until the weather breaks and I can change up my routine and workout outside. I am so ready for spring.The scale has not been moving downward and I am ok with that ( kinda) I am a size 10 and feel healthy. I think it's an acceptable weight for my big boned but petite frame. I still strive to get down another 5 lbs... we will see. I still have some body fat I want to lose and can clean up my eating even more as usual....but there is that balance.... eating healthy enough but not depriving yourself. Overall I make good choices 90% of the time. My elbow has still been bothering me.. so I am laying off weights until it is healed.

Healthy lunch & double cardio day


I had a great fitness & healthy eating day...


I did 30 min on the elliptical this morning and after work I still had energy and since I had a pretty sedentary day and was rather low on my steps per my fitbit, I decided to hop on the treadmill for another 30 min...... double cardio... why not? next I had a big bowl of healthy for lunch..... a big green salad with some wheat thins and fat free balsamic dressing 3 days a week really keeps me on track.  If I add an hard boiled egg and some turkey for protein.. it can be really filling. Whenever we eat out John is always pointing out salads to me... I rarely want a salad when i eat out.. that is usually on a weekend and weekends are my splurge days typically. I am also very picky about salads...I am a lettuce snob. I hate wild greens, I like dark leafy greens... just not the weedy greens.I strained my elbow.. yes my elbow.. prolly lifting weights or doing french press.. so I am laying off the weights until I does not bother me anymore.

injuries

After working out 5 days a week for 10 months, there is bound to be some recoup & recovery now & then. I have nursed a handful of injuries.. most from not stretching enough, over stretching  or pushing it with weights. Today my ankle feels funny, like I over stretched the muscles yesterday. Last week I was stacking weights for my military presses which compromised my grip and I was quite sore in my forearms

There is the normal healthy sore from a good workout and then there is the pain and knowing I did to much. It's hard because I know I need to go up in weights to continue to challenge myself, but you have to take baby-steps.

week 43

I had an indulgent weekend... enjoyed a burger, a beer and fries... whoo boy!!!!!! Today my shins are so sore from my 1st outdoor run of 2013... I have to take it easy on cardio so they can heal. All is well with my gallbladder.... no stones.... so perhaps I passed a stone or there is a different reason for my occasional pain in that region.. although I am pretty certain it was a gall stone issue.Either way I am happy to report that all is well and my bw shows I lowered my cholesterol by 15 pts since my last test in August. I have always had naturally high cholesterol.. it's genetic. This new doc recommends working out and eating healthier....she must have not been listening when I told her that I have lost 15 lbs and worked out 5 days per week. Ugghhh...at least my endocrinologist listens and respects my wishes to not take cholesterol lowering meds. I have been doing good... a little snacky thanks to Girl scout cookies and just emotional eating.. but my workouts are out of this world and I started my protein shakes again.

Week 42- still have work to do, but I have come a long way. No denying that... sure I can pick apart my back & belly fat... but Instead I am going to pat myself on the shoulder for my dedication. Now I am really zoning in on burning fat these next few months and cleaning up my diet.  I can do much better in that area. I am Running again..woot!!!!. I had reverted to power incline walking awhile back and alternating walking with the elliptical. Now I am running again and hopeful that this will give me the extra push I need to see the results I want to see.
